Jon Burgerman (1979) draws, paints, clicks and sleeps. The UK artist has built a strong reputation through his unique and colourful doodle-artworks of swooping, intertwining lines and hyper-emotional characters. Working across a variety of media that includes drawing, painting, print, animation, large scale murals and toy design, his art retains a hand-made, hand-drawn quality. A sense of British self-deprecation, dry humour and modern-day anxiety imbues his work along with an enthusiasm for salads. Burgerman has exhibited internationally since 2001 with his work in the permanent collections of The Victoria and Albert Museum and The Science Museum in London. He regularly gives lectures at Universities and presented his work at the prestigious Pictoplasma Character Design Conference (Berlin, 2006) where he also ran a ‘doodling‘ workshop for the entire audience. He received a D&AD Silver award nomination for his work for Levis and has worked on many commercial projects for high profile organisations. None of these companies need further free promotion but do include: The Science Museum (UK), The BBC (UK), SONY (Worldwide), KidRobot (Worldwide), The Sydney Morning Herald Newspaper (Australia), MTV (Worldwide), Pepsi (USA), Coca-Cola (Worldwide), 55DSL (UK), Gortex (Europe), Crown Creative Inc. (Japan), NookArt (Worldwide), Snickers (UK), Miss Sixty (Italy), Rip Curl (Worldwide) and Symbian (Worldwide). He also designed a special sick bag for Virgin Atlantic flights. Burgerman currently lives in Nottingham, in the East Midlands of the UK, which is famous for Robin Hood and lace. In Italy he collaborates with MondoPOP until 2007.

Jon Burgerman è nato in In ghilterra nel 1979 ed ha costruito una forte reputazione come artista attraverso il suo stile unico e incursioni a metà tra il disegno e lo “scarabocchio” in un groviglio di linee e e personaggi iper-emozionali. Lavora con i media più disparati: dal disegno al dipinto, alla stampa all’animazione, ai murales fino agli art toys. Le sue opere sono permeate da un senso dell’humor molto british e dalla quotidiana ansia del mondo moderno. Burgerman he esposto internazionalemte a partire dal 2001 e i suoi lavori fanno parte della collezione permanete del Victoria & Albert Museum del Science Museum di Londra. Le sue Lectures si svolgono regolarmente in diverse Università ed ha presentato il suo lavoro presso la prestigiosa Pictoplasma Character Design Conference di Berlino nel 2006.
