Line Hoven was born in Bonn, Germany. After working as an assistant costume- and set designer at the Kassel State Theatre, she decided to poke her nose into something new. She ended up studying visual communication at the Art School in Kassel.
Two years later she switched to the University of Applied Sciences Hamburg to study illustration. She graduated and is now working as a freelance illustrator and comic artist. Her first graphic novel “Liebe schaut weg” ("Love looks away") won the ICOM Independent award for the best independent comic in 2008 and was nominated for the Max und Moritz-Prize 2008. She was also announced getting the 2010 e.o.plauen sponsorship award.
Besides that she sometimes sells records at Michelle Records. She lives in Hamburg with her husband Arne Bellstorf and her little son Matti.
Her work has been published into several magazines and anthologies such as:
Strapazin, Le Monde diplomatique, Panik Elektro, Orang, flitter and many others.

Line Hoven è nata in Germania; dopo ave lavorato come assistente costumista e scenografa per il Kassel State Theatre decide di cambiare rotta e studia comunicazione visuale alla Art School di Kassel.
Due anni più tardi lascia gli studi di Scienze Applicate ad Amburgo per terminare gli studi in illustrazione. Dopo la laurea comeincia a lavorare come illustratrice free lance e la sia prima graphic novel “Liebe schaut weg” vince l'ICOM Independent Award per il miglior comic indipendente e viene nominato per il Max and Moritz Prize nel 2008.
Ogni tanto vende dischi al Michelle Records, ad Amburgo, dove vive con suo marito e suo figlio Matti.

Ha partecipato a diversi group shows in tuta Europa, esponando, tra gli altri, al Cartoon Museum di Basilea.
