Seattle artist Lisa Petrucci is best known for her cute and kitschy paintings on wood. Her art is influenced by the retro pop culture of her youth, as well as pin-up art, vintage girlie magazines, and exploitation cinema. She obsessively collects old toys, dolls, big eyed art, and kitsch which find their way into her artwork, and surrounds her subjects with vintage decorative motifs like floral fabrics, trims, and old greeting cards, creating icons that celebrate femininity and the cult of cuteness. Her paintings can be best described as naughty and nice.
Lisa's art has been shown nationally and internationally, and featured in numerous publications including Juxtapoz Magazine and the books "Kickass Kuties - the Art of Lisa Petrucci" and "Pop Surrealism: The Rise of Underground Art". She has products available from Dark Horse Comics and is also the co-owner of Something Weird Video, a nostalgic mail order video company.
